Our mission is to provide a quality US accredited education for preteens in small groups. Providing a safe space for preteens to grow and learn together is the foundation for the adventure in education we will be embarking on. Our mission is to provide a quality US accredited education for preteens in small groups. Providing a safe space for preteens to grow and learn together is the foundation for the adventure in education we will be embarking on. Self care, personal responsibility, emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity are undertones of the program. Additionally, the Spanish program aims to empower children to connect with and respect the local people and their culture by learning the language of our host country and its history through project based learning.

Mackenzie is a long time resident of Nosara. Originally from BC, Canada this quirky surfer woman studied Anthropology in Vancouver before leaving to study French and later Spanish abroad. Since landing in Nosara in early 2016 she has offered a variety of educational experiences for children such as yoga, surfing, language courses and finally small group homeschool style grade school pods. Her passions include surfing, fútbol, painting, language, celebrating diversity, social justice, and community.
Learning the language of our host country is a must. The Spanish program at Nosara Middle School will use the level C1/C2 textbook “Gramatica de uso del español” for grammatical study with a native Spanish speaker
Students will also study Latin American history and literature. Costa Rican authors and history will be highlighted.
