🌸Mondays through Fridays 9am - 3pm

🌸The 3rd Friday of every month will be field trip (expect December and April when we have holidays)

🌸The first Friday of each month is reserved for parent teacher meetings and professional development. There are no classes. 

🌸Vacations:  Winter- Friday Dec 22nd 2023 through Monday January 8th (2 weeks)

                        Spring - Friday March 25th through Monday April 8th 2024 (2 weeks) 

🌸Field trips align with Spanish projects! They are an additional cost. They take place on last Friday of every month except for December and April (holidays). 

1. Milking cows and feeding sheep at Toros Bravos farm 
2. Planting trees with CostasVerdes 
3. Touring a coffee farm and bathing in a waterfall Zaragoza 
4. Paddleboarding or kayaking in the Nosara River to look for birds 
5. Basket weaving with a local indigenous woman 
6. Visiting the Scarlet Macaw Rescue Center 
7. Bat caves and tide pools

🌸Every even numbered week will have spelling rules practice, sexual health education, communal cooking and study hall/ submissions support in the afternoons.

🌸Nosara now has all the school supplies one could wish for at their local grocery stores so it is not necessary to bring anything from abroad.

🌸1 notebooks per subject, an art journal with the thicker blank white pages, pencils! pens! markers, colored pencils, a calculator for Math, highlighters, scissors, an agenda book, a backpack, a reusable lunch bag, reusable containers and reusable water bottle 

🌸Students will need access to a computer or tablet to submit their work and write essays although the majority of school work will be done in pencil. 

🌸Delicious, home cooked traditional Costa Rican lunches available 

🌸Vegetarian options available 

🌸The hot lunch program incurs an additional cost 

🌸Oak Meadows is a terrific American homeschool curriculum that offers 36 lessons that will be implemented lesson by lesson on a weekly basis.
🌸Middle schoolers will be responsible for submitting their work to the online platform on time with their teacher’s support. 

🌸Mackenzie has 3 years experience teaching multiple grade levels and a strong report with the OM team.
🌸The curriculum is available online and must be purchased ahead of time to guarantee enrolment.
🌸The accrediated package is 4,000$ 

🌸The materials without accreditation are 890$ 

🌸These costs are additional to the school’s tuition which is competitive in Nosara 

🌸There are different sports/exercise  programs offered by season (wet/dry)      

🌸These activities are taught by another teacher/ coach and take place after school on Wednesdays. 

🌸Extra curricular activities  incur an additional cost. 

🌸Art classes will be organized with a local artist depending on interest!

🌸Students are encouraged to take advantage of Nosara’s world class surfing in Guiones or participate in any of the other exciting activities for child in the area! 

🌸These activities are subject to change based on group interest :) 

🌸Our classroom spaces are simple but safe. Rustic but clean

. 

🌸The school is located in Playa Pelada at a private residence that has been converted into a school house. 

🌸There are plenty of plants around and a space to make a compost and small garden - which will be doing together as part of the science curriculum.
